ABOUT BLAZE TRAVEL CLUB

The Honeoye Falls Travel Soccer Club was first organized in the early 1980’s and incorporated as a New York State Not for Profit organization in July of 1986.

The purpose of the organization is to coordinate developmental soccer activities for players under the age of 18 in the Honeoye Falls - Mendon - Lima area.

The club nickname has been BLAZE since its inception, so Honeoye Falls Travel Soccer and BLAZE have become synonymous.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Honeoye Falls Blaze is to build a competitive travel soccer club. In order to do this, we feel we must develop players through a tiered system that focuses on technique in our U9-U12 programs, evolving to more tactical and competitive nature in our U13-U17 clubs.

We will remain committed to developing our coaches, with an overall goal to ensure we are providing strong player development. We will also build strong leadership to ensure that we are evolving as a club and focus on continuous improvement versus focusing on specific teams or individuals.

We are a club for boys and girls who are serious about soccer. We will be more inclusive at the younger levels, however, after U12 it is our goal is to field more competitive teams.

While we strive to be a winning club, we will not be a win-at-all-costs-club. We wish to instill in our players a sense of fairness, respect, and love for the game.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

OBJECTIVE: INTRODUCE PLAYERS TO THE GAME OF SOCCER.

Process: Basic soccer skills, such as dribbling and passing will be the main focus early on in the program (U9/U10). As players get older, they will continue to not only hone in on their soccer skills, but the will start to learn tactical field play, as well as making informed decisions on their own as they are playing the game. Each player should expect to have fun while learning the game of soccer.

Expected outcome: After participating in the Blaze U9/U10 programs, individual players should have a better understanding of the game of soccer.

Other information: We participate in the Rochester District Youth Soccer League (RDYSL) as well as local tournaments.
